In the Community

At Willett Engineering we know there's a lot more to life than just work.  That's why we go out of our way to make sure we're having fun both in and out of the office.  Throughout the year we arrange for company sponsored events where employees and their families can take part in various activities.  These events bring employees and their families closer and help to provide a better work environment.  From baseball games, to weekend getaways, to holiday dinners... there's always something in the works.  Every December we sponsor an evening at the Art Station in Stone Mountain, Georgia where clients and their families are invited to join us for a traditional holiday theatrical performance.

Who says you can't have fun while helping others?  Throughout the year, our employees along with their families and friends join together to take part in a variety of events which provide help to others.  These events include charity work, community outreach programs, and educational programs.

Tornado Damage Assessment Team

Willett Employees participated with the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, as part of a team of architects and engineers to assess damage and initiate recovery efforts on historic homes and buildings damaged by the tornado that struck Americus, GA in March of this year.  The vast majority of the 470 houses in the Americus historic district and a number of other historic buildings and houses throughout the community sustained damage.

Laura Moore and Teresa Hartle represented Willett as two of a five-member team.  They attended a Town Meeting where they answered questions and gave advice.  They also set up appointments, as requested, to crawl through attics and basements and to assess possible structural damage to the historic homes.

Boy Scouts of America

Scott Boughton and his wife, Allison, are active in the Boy Scout Troop 590 at Berkmar UMC in Lilburn.  Scott has been Scoutmaster for five years with a roster of 40 boys, ages 11-17.  He supervises weekly meetings and a camping trip each month.  Scouting works because of the adults like Scott and Allison who volunteer their time and energy to make a difference in the lives of our youth.  We are proud of their involvement.

Preparing Future Engineers

Willett Engineering also takes part in Future Engineers.  This program, created by Willett Engineering, allows for members of our engineering staff to visit local schools and talk to kids of all ages about the different aspects of engineering.  We work through this program to promote student interest in the areas of science and engineering.  We show students how they will take lessons learned in the classroom and apply understand that the success of our future Engineers depends on the lessons and support we provide them today.
